Bottle (in Xi’an) Clear pale straw, no head. Initially hoppy vegetable aroma, pilsner-like, but vanishes quickly. Medium body and carbonation. Sugary sweet with some short-lived bitterness in finish. A very strange beer - I would not be surprised to find that it is not brewed, but manufactured - it seems so artificial.

Bottle (in Xi’an) Clear pale golden yellow with very short-lived head. Little aroma, somewhat malty. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly tangy foretaste with somewhat malty taste, but no bitterness. It’s acceptable, but not good.

Bottle (in Xi’an). Clear golden with good white head, albeit short lived. Pretty basic malty aroma - nothing special. Thin body and medium carbonation. The flavour is very restrained. It is OK, somewhat malty and little else. Overall, there is nothing wrong with this beer (especially deep in Asia), but equally there is nothing to recommend it.

Test vom 18.10.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 5,10,9,9,8,9 - 8,70

Hans 9° (that’s the entire description on the label) 618 ml Bottle–pours a foamy white head. Color is clear yellow with effervescence. Aroma is a nice grain, looking forward to another beer that is outside of the ‘standard’. Taste grain, good carbonation. Plain, and ‘standard’. I thought their other beers were better, but this was OK for myself and the group I was with.

Pale golden in colour, not much flavour - pretty bland of course, but it sure did wash down a 12cent sandwich and a 12 cent dessert from the streets. Good thing this 628 mL bottle only cost 60cents! Sampled on the streets of Xi’an, then brought into the Hyatt Regency. 15-March-2005.

Golden with soft carbonation and light head. Malty aroma (the "dearly departed" wonderbread) with slight hay notes. Very light flavour but reasonally heavy body for a 9P beer. Quite sweet - almost candyish.
