Description
Alpine Beer Company began with Patrick and Valerie McIlhenney in 1999. We are a small-town brewery, nestled in the foothills of the mountains just outside of San Diego. From IPAs to small-batch sours, we’ve been crafting high-quality ales since 1999. Known as the “Home of Pure Hoppiness,” people travel from near and far to try our special brews. Now you can bring home a little taste of hoppiness from Alpine.
In 2014 Alpine Beer Company and Green Flash officially joined forces, allowing for the expansion that Pat had been working on to become an immediate reality.
In December 2021, Alpine Beer Co. was acquried by Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing Co.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA at 8.8%. Citra, Sourthern Cross, Nelson and Pacific Jade hops. Pours translucent orange gold with a decent white head. Aroma is floral, citrus and cooked caramel. Med body or better. It is hoppy, but not painfully bitter. Melon, grapes, unusual citrus and a lot of perfume/floral. Malt is rather cooked caramel. Hard to explain that, but it is different from plain old caramel. It's heavy duty flavor, but a bit on the malty side.

Hazy gold with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. Semi dry with fruity, citric and perfumey hops. Medium finish and body.

Can, 0.355l. Aroma of mango, passion fruit, citrus, pine and resin. Pours clear amber color with medium sized frothy white head soft visible carbonation. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel and mild tropical fruit, following is medicinal, piney, citrusy and resinous, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is heavy bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. My favorite drinking duet…

Can from Bottle Baron. Hazy golden body with a few flecks floating beneath a white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, mango and black pepper. Flavour of orange, honey and grapefruit. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Bright and tongue-tinglingly hoppy. The rye is expertly used and lends a nice spicy, biscuity edge, especially on the aroma.
