500mL bottle, undated (is old), drunk 5/29/24. Clear, mahogany-auburn. Still has a lovely, creamy-dark-beige head that slowly recedes to partial cover. Nose is fruity, rich, malty with mellow, well-aged acidity. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry and vanilla with gentle but balancing oak. Black pepper and lingering tannin. Very nicely-done to style. Also this is 14 years old. Hint of nutty oxidation but with mostly juicy acetic acid, though rounded by ample maltiness and light vanilla-like notes. Rich honey, oak, light wine and plentiful lacto character creates a very authentic flanders that is better than most Rodenbachs I've had. Some lingering brett, an incredibly soft, supple, lightly tannic and oily palate with, somehow, plentiful malt depth still remaining. Wow. A shame these guys are effectively gone.

Monday 27th May 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys drinking beer and talking bollox. Bottle from minutemat's vault, well out of date and beginning to show it's age. Still had a vanilla sweetness but the aroma was shot and it had obviously mellowed somewhat.

Taster showing pale straw with half a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows moderately intense juicy grapefruit and pommelo.
The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Juicy pineapple forwardness with a strong but quickly dissipating bitterness on the end.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma brings out whiskey barrels, toasted bready malt and a hint of caramel. Flavour is hot, with plenty of whiskey barrels, alcohol, toffee and bready malt. The body is somewhat thin, but the flavours are very nicely balanced. Very good.

12oz (thx, Tyler!) @ Black Christmas 2023 at Heritage Hall. Appearance: a bit hazy copper, beige head. Aroma: American oak, some caramel and sweetness, a tad rough and oxidized. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: ok.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma reveals toasted caramel, a touch of bourbon, and some brown sugar. Flavour is rich, with lots of caramel, dark fruits, bourbon barrels, and a little brown sugar. Cohesive and rich, yet the mouthfeel is rather light. Very good.
