Bottle. Pours a clear, straw yellow. Big white head. Aroma is of light light barley, nothing much there, maybe there is some lemon, maybe I’m just imagining that. Flavor is watery, but neutral, no skunky flavors. Some barley grains, light honeysuckles and hints of grass. . . . ya I’m stretching here for some description. Palate is watery, but not altogether passable as thin. Some decent refreshing body there is. Light, neutral, not skunked and macro tasting, so that’s worth something. Oh ya, no soap, no metal, no stale apples (though a bit of apples in the aroma). Rerate Better flavor than I remember, though it’s not as clean and flavorful and good as the 1, IMHO.

Slightly honeyish lager with an earthy, caramelly backbone. Hint of grassiness as well. Nothing to recommend.

Straw colour. Slightly grainy, slighty grassy aroma. Light, clean taste. Quick finish. Bland. Hint of graininess and little else. It’s not even wet!

Grainy, slightly metallic aroma. Thin body. Sweetish, yet husky grain flavours. Hint of acidity. No hop character, maybe 18 IBUs. Yellow.

Current rating (2011, Moscow). Cloudy tan. The aroma is a bit funky/footy with yeast. Dry for a wheat, with light phenols and banana. Balanced and refreshing, this is a good pocket of wheat for me. Score unchanged.
Original rating (2004, St. Petersburg). Hazy golden colour. Light banana aroma with sahti-like funky house phenols. Light, spritzy body. Quenching, wheaty, fruity character. Off-dry finish. 6-3-7-4-14 = 3.4.

Crisp golden lager with faint honeyish notes and hints of malt. There is slight bitterness, slight tartness. It is fairly clean and slightly heavier than most of its stablemates (save #6)

Pours a nice dark red color. Aroma is nice mix of chocolate and malts. Flavor is very pleasing. A nice mix of malt.carmel and maple. Of the 3 baltikas i have tried this is by far the best. Worth looking for.

Pour is a sickly yellow. Aroma is very malty. Flavor is just alcohol and lots of it! Nothing stands out in this brew other than it has lots of alcohol. I guess it will keep you warm on cold Russian nights.
