Got this today from hopscotch, thanks pal! 12.7 oz corked bottle Oh my, this stuff is simply delicious, a great beer by any standard. Fine wine aroma. Nice dark clear color. Friendly by any comparable specification. Delicious and perfectly balanced, absolutely no bitterness in this beer what so ever. If this was cheaper and readily available, I would buy it all the time. It’s gone? Blast. What a great beer drinking experience, as good as or better than fruit lambics. I really owe hopscotch one for this! The finest of fine. In my humble opinion, some of the best beer I’ve ever tasted.

I am sorry guys, i did not think even Chapeau could make something this bad. Bottle from Legion242 (I know John, I was asking for it). Smells is cleaning product and cheap cherry syrup. Thanks? to beastiefan2k for sharing - ick! - smells of pine sol, damp wood, and blueberries - tastes like cane sugar, berries, mild spices - light acidity can’t break through the children’s cereal sweetness - gueuze? - this tastes almost just like their faro, but this might even be worse.

Bottle. [Vintage 1999] Unclear light to medium yellow orange color with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate lemon grape sour and sweet, fruity, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet, acidic and acetic with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily / watery, carbonation is flat. Very round and good balanced, mild but with character ;o)) (121207)

37.5 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium as Chapeau winter geueze 5.5%. Pours hazzlenut brown with a lacing off-white head. Berry fruity aroma with notes of malt and slight note of liqourice. Flavour is sweet malty, caramel with a classic geueze towards faro like note. Finish is sweet with a solid malt base lingering. Nice yet simple.

Bottled@Kerstbierdestival, Essen (as Chapeau Winter Gueuze, 5.5%). Hazy amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is sweet fruits and sugar. Flavour is quite much the same along with papery hints. One of the better Chapeaus.

Bottle Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a brown with off white head. The aroma is wheat, sugar, with a touch of cardboard. The taste was sweet spice and some copper pennies, still drinkable. Bottled - had as Winter Gueuze at 5.5% ABV. Unclear dark amber beer with a rim of beige head. The aroma is very spicy, as well as very light notes of bret, and some spices. Very weird flavor - very sweet, very spicy, cinnamon, leading a dry spicy finish.

25 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy orange with little off-white head. Aroma is malt heavy with a slight acidity. Flavour is sweet malty, cane sugarish. Finish holds a very subdued caramel sweetness and a mild malt note. No acidity at all. Ends rather sweet and malty. Unusual sweet for a lambic.
