Description
19th century land-use plan of the area mentions a brewery owned by a certain Petronnella De Troch.
Even older records indicate that her father, Pieter De Troch, was running a brewery on the same site in the late 18th century. Petronnella married Egidius De Troch and in 1898 their son Louis took the family business over. Louis Married J. De Neve, and their son, also Louis, inherited the brewery and farm in 1936. The same Louis married M.L. Van den Moortel.
Their nephew Jos Raes and his wife M. Vanderhasselt took on the family tradition in 1974 and have been running this rare craft brewery ever since. In 2002, their son Pauwel Raes joined his parents into the family business.
In July 2012 Pauwel & his wife Kristel Schelfthout took over the brewery to continue the brewery tradition !

Sampled from bottle. It’s pretty much sparkling apricot juice. A bit of cherry on the side. I thought there should be some lambic sourness to distinguish it more as a beer. There was a touch of bitterness to it’s finish. I’d say it’s fine as a fruit drink, but not much as a beer.

(bottle, provided by pivnizub) Hazy and cloudy yellow colour with a non-persistent frothy white layer. Slightly sour and musty aroma with apple fruitiness. Sour flavour, medium to light body, smooth carbonation. Fruity and slightly musty horseblanket-like taste; dry and sour-fruity, slightly woody finish with a moderately tart aftertaste.

Bottle. Cloudy golden colour, small white head. Nice, sour, earthy aroma. The flavour is also sour, but not much, and earthy. Could have been a bit more refreshing. Gets a bit watery after a while, when the flavour seems to vanish.

Thanks to Goldtwins for sharing this one at Noogfest. Bottle, "best before 1997" I can’t say that this one has gone out of date. Starts with a thin pour, no head. Sweet fruity aroma. The flavor is similar, exhibiting a fruity, sweet cider sweetness. Thin body but refreshing.

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Pours a hazy golden with a small, creamy head. Very acidic aroma. Rather light-bodied - perhaps even slightly watery - with a smooth and pleasant tartness that holds all the way through. Actually a very mellow and drinkable gueuze. 210506
