Description
In 1992, Paul Theakston took a daring leap into the unknown. As a fifth generation brewer of his family company, he chose to leave T&R Theakstons following its sale to a national brewery. Instead, he chose to champion independent brewing in Yorkshire and built his own brewery in the very same town, Masham. The brewhouse contains a mixture of tradition and innovation, using the Yorkshire Square Fermentation system which we hold dearly. Our original brewhouse was built from reclaimed equipment which we still use to this day.

440ml can from Lidl. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, beige, head. Aroma of dark chocolate, some dark fruit sweetness and rich nuts. Flavour was sweetish, with some fudge notes, peanuts and a rich finish. Good.

Dark brown colour with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have some sweet vanilla notes and there's a nice roasted peanut element too.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber colour with a compact light beige head. Aroma of fudge, leather, bread crust, brown sugar, flowers and some grass. Flavour of leather, bread crust, minerals, fudge and ends a little dry with grass and hay. Has a slick mouth feel, light body and a light to medium bitterness. Malty with a nice hoppy touch. Solid bitter.

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Clear amber-red with a small head. Tasting like ice cream with raspberry ripple on top, which is very sweet and the fruit is potent too - but much less so in its aftertaste.

11/4/2022. Can shared by minutemat, cheers. Pours clear bright pale gold with a small, short lasting frothy white head. Aroma of sweet apple, sugars, sodium, slight sulphur mucky notes. Quite sweet with light sourness. Moderate body, slightly oily, quite fizzy. Looked good, otherwise fair.

500ml bottle, 4.5 % abv, bought at Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsdalen. Clear pale amber body, dissipating pearl white head, spotty lacing. Mild malt-fruity smell with a herbal scent. Moderate taste profile of grain, leafy hops, and a biscuit twist. Rather short ending, distant bitterness to it. Soft on the swallow. Easy going. (Tromsø 11.03.2022).
