330ml bottle at Proeflokaal De Boom, Alkmaar - Hazy yellow body, uncontrollable white head. Nose fresh herbs, citrus, spruce and a bit of a flowery note. Taste big and robust, pleasant finish too.

Short cola-like pearling, resulting in no head whatsoever; deep brown beer. Quite sweet nose, sweet X-mas spices, cola lollipops, liquorice. Sweet, liquorice, some alcohol; candi syrup, molasses. Feels dead. Slick, oily but not really full-bodied. Some alcoholwarming. I’m getting the impression that Dampegheest were able to purchase cheaply a huge stock of gingerbreadspices.

Calls itself Dubbel on the label. Huge, dense and fine yellow head, over veiled deep red-amber beer. Bit (malt)syrupy nose, smelling sweet but not cloyingly. Rainwater, parsly, thyme, coloured malts galore. Sweet, roasted without bitterness, and a short acidic touch. Speculoosspices, liquorice. Spritzy carbonation, medium bodied and quite slick. Long-lasting flavours. Bit easy, no?

Bottle @Ulfborg Scooper. Murky orange, white head. Yeasty aroma. Sweet flavour, sweet orange, yeast, bubblegum and a little spice in the finish. Not bad but too candy-like, sugary.

33 cl. bottle @ the bungalow in Borger, Bought @ de Slijterij, Borger Dark borwn with a tan head. Rosted malts, caramel and some yeast in the aroma and also some red fruit. Taste is medium bitter. Tastes more like an abbey dubbel than a dunkler bock to me but at least it’s tasty.

Bottle picked up from Gall and Gall, Alkmaar (I think) Netherlands, consumed at home whilst cooking Aubergine Pasta Pie, Tuesday 4th October 2016 Hazy murky brown colour with an off-white head. Soft in the mouth, some chewy toffee and caramel a bit of spice, its ok, but not doing cartwheels for me. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
