Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was somewhat dark and a slight brown around the edges. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within about thirty seconds. The lacing, well, it slides for the most part.
The smell didn’t really have much but what was there was a light roasty coffee aroma trying to run about but ends up coming across extremely light.
The taste was basically the same as the smell.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and decent for the style.
Overall, I say this was a good Schwarzbier I could have again.

Bottle left here by Ferret consumed at home, Sunday 27th July 2014 Pours light gold with a filmy white head. Sweet on nose with corn evident. Really thin in the mouth, sweet and corny but very wishy-washy, Loz has told me to throw it, I may yet take her up on her sensible advice. I did take her up and poured myself a glass of red wine A4 A4 T5 P2 Ov9. 2.4

zapach słodowy, lekko ziołowy, zdecydowanie najmocniejsza strona piwa. kolor jasnego złota, przejrzysty, piany praktycznie brak. w smaku woda, lekko kwaśne, lekki posmak kurzu. bardzo niska goryczka. raczej unikać.

Bottle from B&M, Halifax. Pale golden with a thin head. Has little character to it, just a crispness alongside a bland malt taste.

Bottle, 0.355l. Hazy ruby brown color with small light brown frothy head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of cereals, wine, mild roasted malt and dark fruits. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel malt, follows by mild roasted malt and coffee with dark fruity notes and light bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Quite average mainstream beer, a bit too artificial aroma and sweetness...

500 ml bottle into lager glass; C083 BT1 bottle code. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, white grape, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light earthy yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, white grape, orange zest, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Slight floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, white grape, lemon zest, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and solid robustness of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light yeast ester flavors; with a very clean flavor profile and no cloying after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this a nice and pleasant Czech pilsener style. Good balance and solid robustness of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
