Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.

Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Pours rather thick cloudy pale amber. Sweet, fruity and somewhat syrupy, dominated by toffee. Very malty with restrained yeast character. Drier finish with a hint of grass. Just does not really get going. I usually prefer Grauballes lighter beers more.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with a quite strong roasted character, combined with lighter notes of alcohol and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty again with a roasted character combined with notes of soy sauce. And the body is thin. OK, but nothing special.

Bottled. A hazy orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet and nicely hoppy combined with spicy notes - especially of coriander. The flavor is sweet malty with a flat mouthfeel, leading to a dry end, and the body is a bit thin. OK, but nothing special.
