Howling Hops brew bold, modern, uncompromised, flavoursome, generously hopped beers. All our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and suitable for vegans. We still stick to our early philosophy of ‘make some interesting beer’, although not every one is different these days. We have a core of 4 beers that we brew regularly, a couple of beers we brew seasonally and every 3 or 4 weeks we brew a different single batch beer.

Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear 2024 - Hackney. Pours black-brown with a bubbly, light mocha topping. Light sweet flavour with huge black coffee character, some ashy roast, bitter baking cocoa, a little earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. More rich black coffee in the finish, well toasted malts, bitter ashy dryness. Perhaps a little one-note but it’s unapologetic.

Keg at the Howling Hops Tank Bar, 02/11/24. Pinkish red topped with a crimson cap that escapes to edging. Nose is pink berry sherbets, herb, hedgerow, balsa wood, grass. Taste comprises tangy berries, cherry skins, lemon rind, herb, light acidic tang, hedgerow. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering rasp. Decent enough refresher but perhaps lacking a touch of depth for the ABV.
