Description
In 2011 we Howling Hops reopened the Cock tavern on Mare street as Hackney’s first brewpub. The brewery expanded a few times but still couldn’t really keep up with the demand. So in 2015 the brewery moved to the current address in the heart of Hackney Wick.

Howling Hops brew bold, modern, uncompromised, flavoursome, generously hopped beers. All our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and suitable for vegans. We still stick to our early philosophy of ‘make some interesting beer’, although not every one is different these days. We have a core of 4 beers that we brew regularly, a couple of beers we brew seasonally and every 3 or 4 weeks we brew a different single batch beer.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Pours dark, good beige head. Encouraging nose, roasty with good dark malt layers. Flavour profile delivers balanced roast, choc & malt expressions.. it's all here, cask-style. Cracking.

Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester city centre. Mid- to dark gold and hazy with an uneven film of white head. Nose is fruity and slightly floral, some candy sugar. Taste gives notes of lime leaf and tangerine, it's sweet with a bitter edge and maybe slightly dirty. Body is full enough with medium carbonation. I expected a lot more.
