Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

Can from Beer52. Gosnell's gets top billing on the can but they're a meadery and this was brewed by Gipsy Hill. Another Beer52 mind melt. Pours a clear gold with small white top. Aroma of mild lemon, honey, cereals, grass. Very slick and honey noted although not too sweet. There are grassy and floral hops coming through as well as light bread with moderate bitterness. Decent balance to it.

Can from LCB. Semi hazed pale gold with a wispy white covering. Aroma of sweet honey with some citric notes. Taste of honey, lemon, apple, modest lactic sourness. Smooth with slight syrup texture (well it is mead), moderate sparkle. Really nice balance to this, very tasty light mead.

Can from LCB. Light hazed yellow-gold. Aroma of honey, lemon and herbs. Quite sweet and slick with the honey and an underlying lemon pith, faint hint of the herbs and the the drying salt effect. Low sparkle. Everything is as advertised and moderately tasty.

330ml can. Hopped mead is a new one for me as well sparkling mead. Hazy pale straw colour, brief fizzy head. Aroma of sweet honey, DIY shops and flowers. Taste is sweet honey which flows through well to the finish considering its been watered down. Floral hops come through with a modest dry bitter and juicy finish. Well made.

Can from Lidl, Brooklands. Aroma has light-medium sweetness with a bitter woody edge. Clear light gold. Foamy white head soon thins out. Initial sour hit, followed by a wave of sugary - if restrained - sweetness. Light. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Pleasant but not overly exciting.
