Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

330ml can from Lidl, Shrewsbury after a ride at Llanfechain to the Lonely Tree. Misty gold, sparse white bubbles atop. Aroma brings floral honey. Flavour profile has a nicely cutting fresh character, prominent honey, moderately sweet, buttery notes.. pretty good sparkling mead.

Can from Lidl, Inverurie. It pours slightly hazy super pale greenish - gold with small white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, green fruits , apple, pear, melon, cheap white wine and honey. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, crunchy, mellow sweetness, sweet - sour, dull tartness, honey honeycake, apple, pear and apple crumble with a short, dryish finish. Light mer end of average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Easy going and quenching.

Can from Middle Farm. Aroma of elderflower cordial. Quite a dry, bitter ending. Good Saison character. Not mead as I knew it but interesting.

Can from Lidl, Inverurie. It pours clear bright ruby - red with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is sweet and intoxicating honey, honey cake, juicy, jammy, raspberry, victoria sponge cake and cranberry juice. The taste is crispy, crunch, quite bright, cranberry juice, tart raspberry, a touch floral, hibiscus, light pucker and with honey is softer than on the snout. Dried up through the finish. Average body and moderate, fizzy carbonation. Comes together well.. bright and fruity with a pleasing tartness to balance things out.

Unexpected purchase from Lidl, Brooklands. Aroma had tart raspberries with a sweet honey edge. Slightly opaque ruby red. Foamy pink tinged head soon recedes. Initial dry Rasbperry and hibiscus sourness - it's quite light. Underlying sweet fruit and a light touch of honey. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Refreshing.
