Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

A hazed blonde mead with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light honey and light fruity esters, light cloves, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light woody notes, light Gin character, light perfumy notes, pleasant. On tap at Meadery.

330ml can from Gosnell's Taproom. Pours clear pale gold. Aroma brings nice sweet honey. Fine spritz. Characterful sweetness, perhaps part honey, part saison yeast.. certainly on the finish there seems a doughy sugary saison yeast presence, second sip reveals vanillery bourbon barrel suggestions, sticky finish on the palate. A grower.

330ml can from Gosnell's tap room, Bermondsey. Pours a golden yellow with a fine mist. Light malt, gentle honey aroma. Fine carbonation, gentle floral influence, gentle honey sweetness, perhaps a momentary hint of green apple, but overall quite light and accessible. Decent.

Keg @ Gosnell's Meadery Taproom. Clear deep pinkish red appearance. Vibrant redcurrant / mixed red berry nose. Initial sip is rich with strong redcurrant, oily palate with nice sippability for 14%, mild mead woodiness coming through on the swallow. Very nice.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 07/01/23. Clear pinkish red with a faded crimson cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is cherry skins, sugars, mellow alcohol, honey, red berries. Taste comprises red berry syrup, vague cherry notes, sugars, honey lozenge, light herb, floral notes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light spike of alcohol. Ok mead if lacking some depth.
