Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - hazy yellow. Initially fizzy but it then drops off. Nose - honey and overripe melon. Taste - pineapple in syrup. Honey of course. Palate - medium bodied with a rich tangy sweet texture that continues through to the finish. However, it does drink fresher than most meads, possibly because of the low ABV. Overall - enjoyable. A really different style of mead. Light and very fresh.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy pale golden body with no head or lacing. Steady carbonation. Aroma of honey, straw and pear. Flavour of grass, butterscotch, alcopop and sugary water. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. It’s certainly interesting but it’s so sweet that I could barely finish the bottle.
