33cl bottle from Beer52.com A cloudy pale apple juice colour, with lots of fizz and white head to start, but then becoming flat looking; interesting aroma with the herbal hops balancing the sweetness of the honey; sweet grape must taste, much better than I was anticipating; with a lingering sweet honey finish.

Straw blond. Very sweet on the lips. Thin body. Has an obvious honey sweetness but remains drinkable.

Sampled as Gosnells Dry Hopped Mead Headless pale golden liquid. Nice nose of mild herbs and fruit. Faintly hoppy, citrus. Sweet, honey but also spicy-herbal. Exotic fruit. Quite slick, the honey working, but not thick or syrupy. Good, original idea of dry-hopping.

Bottle from producer?s own stand at Maltby Street market, London. Pale gold with a light fizz. There’s still a hint of the apple from their standard mead, but the honey is more evident in this version and there’s fresh floral notes overlaying it; elderflower especially. Nice stuff actually, the hopped version is definitely an improvement over their standard mead.

Bottle from producer’s own stand at Maltby Street market, London. Pale gold with a light fizz. Apple up front gives an unexpected sharp hint, with honey in the background. It’s alright, but it’s not wow-ing me.

20/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle @ Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2016-909)
Little hazy pale yellow mead, small head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, sugary, dirty touch, pretty yeasty. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sourish, lemony touch, sweet, some honey. Aftertaste: same, lemon, honey, sweet. Meh.

Keg @ Northern Monk Refrectory, Leeds. Very sweet tasting, somewhere between a cider and ale in this respect, and very good. Pale golden-blonde coloured.
