Dark brown coloured body with a small, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, caramel and cardboard. Medium-bodied; Strong nut flavour with major malt, no hops and some smoked peat thrown in the mix. Aftertaste is also harsh and bitter! Overall, not a great beer at all...fairly bad and will never be sampled by me again. Thanks to Jon[R888710] for buying this one so i didn’t have to! I sampled this twelve ounce beer purchased at Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia on 18-September-2004.

Hazy deep amber coloured body with a medium-sized fast dying head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, caramel, raisins, pit fruit, malt and of course-HOPS! Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive grapefruit hoppiness with a full malt backbone and some strong sweetness. Finishes bitter, but also shows some sweetness & a prolonged alcohol kick as well. Overall, a decent double-better than most (still not a style I like), but nice to try out here on the east coast! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 29-August-2004.

Bottled, thanks Dr.Bill! Reddish amber. Restrained hop aroma. Hugely malty with clean rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by citric, perfumy hops. Lingering very bitter finish.

I was expecting to be bowled over by piney, grapefruity hops but this beer opens up with a malt assault instead- big, chewy breads, toast, and crackers and hints of caramel back up the earthy, bitter (but not overwhelming) hops bill. The body is soapy and full. Semi-astringent finish with lingering resins. I’ve sampled several I2PAs and this isn’t exactly unique, but it is a step up from Great Divide’s very average Titan IPA.

A hazy amber beer with a caramel colored disappearing head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with notes of caramel and oil. The flavor is lovely hoppy with notes of the oil from the hops before a dry hoppy end sets in. A lovely IPA.

A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is nicely hoppy with notes of oil. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and a sticky dry end.

Not too sure why this is so highly rated. IMO a run-of-the mill (if well-made) IPA with standard grapefruit/pine hops balancing caramely, toasty malts. The body is full and flavorful, but I’ve had this beer in various incarnations by a variety of brewers. IPAs can be boring, and I think this belongs in that category, even though it’s a well-done boringness.

Insignificant pilsner aroma. Looks like a hefeweizen; cloudy. Flavor of a pilsner with some malt. One dimensional. Even for an American wheat, this is bad. If they called it a lager it might be ok.

Pours a very think copper with little or no head. Aroma is of course very hoppy and the flavor is like a Carolina pine forest. Very piney and citrusy. NIce hop overpowering you expect. The swallow is chewy and thick. Lots of good stuff happining here.

Thanks to Lord Gorlock (DrunkAsASkunk) for this sample!!! Light amber color with a small head. Clean aroma dominated by malt and a citrusy hop note. The flavor is well balanced, with a respectably dry finish. Nice IPA.
