6% ABV (according to the program at European Beer Festival). Yngwie had advised me to taste a decent Munkholmer – the name is synonymous with non-alcoholic beers in Norway. Rusty-black body under a bubbly, beige head. Slightly roasted aroma. Dark malts accents in flavour with chocolate and coffee notes. Liquorice bitterness in the finish. Ok, and more than just quaffable (100ml, Copenhagen 13.09.2008).

Draught No head, amber-orange beer. Malt nose, with a liberal dose of hopbacking! Tad of liquorice, banana, and caramalts. Caramel, ends on watery, wet-dog "flavours". Rained-on-leaves. Medium bodied, slick, some restsugars befitting a Bock. End lamentably, after an excellent nose. I’ve trouble believing the 9.5%. Medlars in a Bock - superb idea!

(On tap) Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish fruity aroma with some caramel. Medium body with caramel and a light - hard to define - fruity note that must be the medlar. Warming alcoholic finish yet scaringly easy to drink and not really much typical Bock character. 120908
