From partyfass. A hazy orange beer with an OK orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of oranges, but also with light notes of both hops, and butter. The flavor is sweet with light notes of both hops, and fruit - especially peaches comes to mind, but also a hint of butter.

Getting this rating took some time. I bought a partyfass at the brewpub in February to share with the Copenhagen crew, but when the brewmaster realized, that the bar had sold it inspite of her not wanting to sell more of that batch due to a slight acidity, she kindly asked me not to rate it and would supply me with a new partyfass when the next brew was released. So I got it on Wednesday before Easter and opened it to celebrate Joris’ blitz into Copenhagen on Easter Sunday. I like this kind of obsession with giving the customers the right experience of the beer. Some Danish microbrewers can learn from this example!
So how was it: The color is deep red and it has a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malts, but also with a light touch of chocolate. The flavor is lovely sweet and at the same time roasted and dry with nice notes of chocolate. The end is dry and the roastyness lingers around.

Draught Brownish head over dark red-brown beer. Fruity nose with dark fruit (as plums and dark - apricot?) and some dark malts - and some, sorry, good-roasted eggplant! Smoked taste, cigarette ash standing perpendicular on the nose. Bitter, and even hops and some dry wood. Medium bodied. Wood in the aftertaste makes it dry-severe. It loses a point on its unbalance nose-taste. But it is not a bad beer. Again absurd thanks to the Danish crew for a second Partyfass opened in less than ten minutes!

Draught Clear gold-orange; good, very dense & fine head, NOT nitro however (Partyfass). Good pale + coloured malts, parsley, and a tad meaty nose. Dry coloured malts and some fine low-α acid hops. Retronasal however some butyric acid or similar. Medium bodied, bit slick. Good beer, more like a lager than an ale. Special thanks to the Danish raters that just ordered the Fass and bestowed a sample on me, on top of all the rest!

(On tap) Slightly hazy honey golden with a small, creamy, off-white head leaving some laces before dissipating. Soft, malty nose. Rather light body with very fruity accents - some peach perhaps. Some build up of a dry hoppiness on the palate. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden for a strong, pale ale - but don’t be fooled - it’s definitely there. 090306

(On tap) Opaque dark brown but not completely black. Neat, creamy, beige cappuchinoish head. Aroma of roasted malt and a whiff of smoke. An unusual - but pleasant - overwhelming fruitiness, typical for Holbæk Bryghus but unusual for a Stout. Distinct accents of licorice - probably the added sage adds to this - and a vague ashy edge. Sweetish at first but relieved by some dryness while no real bitterness ever emerges. An interesting and rather complex beer. 090306

An unclear dark orange beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity combined with notes of brew mash, the hops can only very vaguely be noticed, if You specifically try to find them. The flavor is very sweet with an acidic note to it - I beleive it is due to some miscue in the brewing - as well as notes of metal. On the positive side it has strong notes of fruit. I really can’t tell that this is an IPA, since the hops are so vague, so I’d say except for the name, this should be listed as a Premium Bitter.

An opaque dark brown beer - it even seems unclear - with a thin brown head. The aroma is malty with some dusty hoppy notes, but also hints of licorice and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel and roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of licorice, that gets stronger as You get closer to the end. A nice beer, but thin for being 6.6% ABV.

An unclear deep red beer with a dense light brown head - looking at the color I’d never guess, that this is a brown ale. The aroma is slightly acidic and malty, with light notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of chocolate and roasted malt.

A dark amber beer with a thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel, but also a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel. I find it slightly boring.
