(Bottle) Nice looking beer - clear deep brown with ruby hints and a decent dense tan head. Pleasant aroma - malty with chocolate notes. Medium bodied, smooth with good carbonation. Pleasant taste - sweet malty toffee is dominant with some chocolate notes and some coffee / burnt sugar bitterness in finish. Pleasant beer.

Schooner on tap at Pumphouse, Sydney. Pours pink with a thin head and high fine carbonation. Nose is funky, hoppy, touch of salt. Laces well. Super refreshing, light sparkly mouthfeel. Lightly sour taste of berries with a malty earthy finish. Great balance. Excellent beer.

500ml bottle into shaker. Mahogany red beer with a large solid crown of foam on top. Laces well. Nose is sweet and alcoholic. Full body, a little fizz. Tastes a bit milky/cocoa/wheaty but the alcohol notes are prominent. A bit herbal too. The finish is dark fruits and mint with drying notes of alcohol. Not particularly smooth, quite harsh actually.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden amber with good dense white head. Lovely intense fruity aroma - citrus and pine. Medium body, oily smoothness, plenty of fine carbonation. Taste is great balance of light toffee malt sweetness and plenty of hops. There’s not a lot in the way of complexity, just a great balance between these two tastes. Very drinkable.

Tap. Deep brown thin beige head. 3- Mild roasty aroma with malty bread, licorice, spices. Lightish bodied, hints of the deadening hand of lactose. Drying with coffee, chocolate, cola nut, gentle roast. Some floral and spicy notes. Maybe too cold. OK.

Bottle. Almost clear orange, large beaten egg white head. Aroma of lemon drops, apricots, wheat crackers, coriander. Light bodied, fizzy (which is fine for this sort of thing). I wouldn't really have picked either of the additions - which again is fine, particularly for watermelon, where I'm not a fan. There's a vague fruitiness before a nice dryish spicy finish. Refreshing.

Can. Clear deep gold with a white head that fades to a cm. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, an interesting lemon peel note that creeps out to be up the front after a while. A little bit of caramel and red berries. Quite light bodied with moderate carbonation. Light bread, berries, citrus... but that somewhat weedy aspect of Cascade is more prominent than it really wants to be and some of the other things get a bit swamped. Still, another good entry in this series: clean, fresh and highly aromatic.

Bottle from brewery in Manly. Chocolate black brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma coffee, burnt malty, grain with a dry taste. Medium body.

On nitro at the brewery. Pours black with a tan nitro head. Chocolate, toast, cherry, blackcurrant, biscuit. Medium body, not that creamy even on the nitro. Nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours orange brown. Peach, apricot, grapefruit, sherbet, bitter orange peel finish. Soft body. Nice.
