(Can) Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma of strawberry jam. Great mouthfeel - light body with plenty of lively carbonation. The taste is nicely sour, with notes of strawberry jam and hints of bread. Very enjoyable.

Can. Assumed this would be a stout - my expectations were not high and have now fallen further. Clear amber with an inch and a half of cream head. Smells mostly like ice cream with chocolate. Obvious lactose. Some singed toffee, hints of spices. Has that nitro deadness on the palate. Foggy caramel sweetness with struggling bitterness. Chocolate gets lost. Not my sort of thing at all but not undrinkable.

Bottle. Last of an Aldi mixed pack. It's hung around a bit but still has a best before of 11/21. Still, I wonder whether it's quite right. Gold, huge white head. Aroma is modest with grain, weeds, lemon. Thin, rather empty. Some grainy and weedy touches but it's quite dry and has little bitterness. Just a dust cutter.

(Can poured hard into glass) Pours clear brown with thick creamy head. Nice aroma of cookie dough and chocolate. Smooth, medium bodied with fine carbonation. Taste is unusual, although pretty true to the description. There’s a taste reminiscent of cookie dough at the start which is joined by some pleasant chocolate notes with hints of toffee malt and some pleasant hop bitterness kicks in at the end for balance (and maybe a reminder that this is a beer). Pleasant and unusual.

Bottle, part of a a cheap Aldi 4 Pines pack. I was never that keen on the original so haven't high hops for a mid-strength rip-off. Pretty much clear pale gold with a dense cm of white head. Aroma of passionfruit, mandarin, weeds, crackers. Watery, fizzy. Dryish with fruit sitting on somewhat cardboardy crackers. Crisp finish with low bitterness. Refreshing enough, I guess.

Schooner on tap at Brighton-Le-Sands RSL, NSW. Pours a hazy Amber with a solid white head and high fine carbonation. Nose of malt and slightly sour grain. Medium body, some lacing. This is the same as 'Furphy' and 'Frothy', more interesting than the macro's but not much. Bland but easy-drinking.
