Draught @ Søgaard Bryghus, Aalborg Pours clear dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, biscuit, pine, citrus, floral and hint of alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel, fruity and bitter finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. A pitch black beer with a dense, finger thick dark beige head. There’s lots of lovely coffee in the aroma, with roasted malts, some mocha and a vague bonfire touch. It’s full bodied and very smooth on the palate, quite sweet but far from cloying. Coffee, some roasted malts and chocolate, and a pleasant bitterness. Lasting coffee dominated finish. Very nice this one, although a tad too one dimensional. 150514

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy amber colored beer with a dense finger thick beige head. It’s lightly sweetish on the nose, with a roasted touch, toffee, some dried fruits and a vague licorice hint. Some sweetness in the flavor, with a good dash of toffee, dried fruits, some bread and licorice. It’s full bodied and soft on the palate. Lasting finish. A tasteful and pleasant beer. 150415

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy dark golden beer with a dense off-white head. The aroma is on the malty side, with piney hops and caramel, bread notes and some grass. Malty flavor too, with piney and grassy hops and a decent bitterness. Full body and pleasant carbonation, semi-sweet. Lasting finish. More into bock-land than pale ale-land this one, but it’s a decent beer anyway. 150514
