Cask at Floodgate Ale House, Stafford Pours pretty much jet black with minimal head. Predictably the nose is of ginger, but not as pronounced as you might expect. A dark fiery mixture of ginger and liquorice in the mouth, adding to the roast malts of a stout. The finish has some hops but more fieriness of ginger and chillis. Nice, but I wouldn’t want to drink it in any great quantity !
