Cask at Hogshead, Wolverhampton The original (and best) Peaky Blinders beer. Liquorice and milky coffee in the nose. Pours a very dark brown with a small cream head. In the mouth there are cherries and chocolate on top and hops and malt mixed underneath. Hops predominate in the finish. Reasonable. [Incidentally pump clip waid 4.4%, not 4.6% - are they dumbing down ? ]

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton Well this is blandness personified – but in a good way ! There’s a vague hint of lemon in the nose. Pours golden amber, clear eventually but slow to settle. Small white head – but no lacing whatsoever. In the mouth it is weak and thin with sahdes of lemon, orange, fudge, biscuits and a mere soupcon of hops. Finish is lemony and hoppy. Easy drinking and swiggable. The perfect accompaniment to steak and kidney pudding.

Bottle from Sainsburys at home. Clear orange blond with small white head. Aroma is quite shandy like, lemon hoppy bit of yeast. Tastes like a shandy. Not wildly exciting, but not too bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Worcester Sorcerer on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. 29/8/2019. Bottle from Sir John Moore, Glasgow enjoyed from the bottle on train back to Carlisle. Aroma of citrus, hops, flowers and vanilla with light spicy and herbal notes and some banana foam sweets. Medium plus sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, slight creamy texture, above average carbonation. Increasingly sweet and slightly herbal finish. Not bad but doubt I’d seek it out again.

26/8/2019. Sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours hazy peach pink with a bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet sugared rhubarb crumble, and caramel. Quite heavy sweetness, minimal tartness. Moderate body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Much too sweet for my liking, strawberry comes through as sweetness fades a little but overall this hides most of any natural rhubarb.

Cask at the Windsor Castle, Lye. Pours murky dark orange with a small head. Aroma is wheaty banana. Taste is wheaty to start with clove and banana on the finish.
