On tap, pours golden. Very bland on the nose and palate, with light toasted malts and biscuit - light bitterness on the finish. Not enjoyable.

On tap at The Drill Inn in Burntwood, pours clear golden copper. Aroma of butterscotch, bitter English hops and wood. Flavour matches this nose profile with a woody finish. Decent.

Cask at the Wellington, Sheffield on 18th February 2011. Copper with virtually no head. Fruity and a tad bitter, with mainly lemon citrus fruit. Slightly metallic taste, citric end.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 02/09/2010. Deep gold with a slight white head. Aroma of apricots, sweetish malts and floral hops. Flavour was also sweet, with some mandarins, marmalade and dryish finish. Fine.

Cask conditioned handpump Anchor Birmingham. Very dark brown colour. Thin beige head. Sour aroma. Bit sweet treacle in the mouth. Nice enough. Old ale. Choc and sour damson. Pretty decent.

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks, 31-07-10 in company of Loz, dad & Pauline Pours hazy gold colour with a bubbly white rim. There is a bit of streaky citrus but its also a touch sour, mmhhh.. I’m thinking that this is past it’s best, not great and unimpressed. A5 A2 T5 P2 Ov10 2.4

Cask, gravity, Merton Summer Beer Festival 16-07-10 Pours warm gold with white head. Aroma is quite citrussy with grapefruit showing and some soft overipe exotic fruit also there. The flavour was a bit more of a wakener for the mouth citrus flying about but there was a good malty backbone and also the more tropical notes in the aroma were trying to come through. Fine stuff but wish I could have sat and consumed a little more leisurely. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

500ml bottle. Pours a very pale, light gold with a small head. Aroma is distant, some orange and hops. Taste is faint oranges and hops, with a bitter finish. Carbonation is a bit low.

500ml bottle. Pours near pitch black with a small light brown head. Aroma is mostly dark roasted malt, with some chocolate with a hint of alcohol. Bit thin in the mouth, doesn’t taste its 6.6%. Some chocolate to start and a moderate bitter finish. Not bad, but I’d like it to be a bit fuller in the mouth.
