Combines unsweetened cocoa, roast, and a touch of anise, then finishes with a lingering burnt bitterness. Lacks depth; bitterness becomes the defining feature.

Off for a dunkel. Lots of raw wort flavor mixed with red apple and a little cocoa. Finishes with a lingering pumpernickel yeastiness and a touch of bitterness. Comes across unfinished.

Another solid Belgian from Tailgate Chattanooga. Crisp notes of grain and apple lead to a spicy middle, followed by hints of vanilla and candi sugar, finished off by a firm floral bitterness. Nice pint.

Enjoyable saison, hitting the basics of the style, offering up gentle wheat and vanilla notes underlined by hints of clove, flowers, and cut straw. Finishes with a touch of yeast and a mild floral bitterness.
