Can from Home Sense. At 5.2% abv. Jet black with a deep tan head. Big malty and nutty aroma and taste. Fully sweet taste. Slightly thin body to finish.
355ml can (5.2% ABV); drank at home on 17th Feb 2021. Black/very dark brown body, tanned topping. Chocolate before peanuts in the nose and taste, malty all round, smooth and slick, but not sickly. It's fine for 'what it is'. I actually grew to like it, as I slowly sipped the beer.
12 Fl Oz can: Drank at home on 14th Feb 2021 after a two hour walk with the wife and Bertie (the dog). It's -2 degrees and Valentines Day! Hazy amber body, thin and weak white wispy head. Strange beer, definite Lime aroma and taste. In the mid 1970's I used to drink Carlsberg and Lime in a British Military Hospital bar in Germany; Charlie Mit being the order back then! Happy memories.
Cloudy bright orange pour with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Sparse strings of lace. Grapefruit, hops and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of pithy grapefruit, floral hop and roast malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short citrus and hop aftertaste. Decent overall.
Starts out alright, with a nice mix of orange zest, vanilla, and grain, but gains an odd saccharine bitterness on the back end, which kinda kills the pleasant citrus vibe. Close to being a solid pint, but not quite.
Can from Beer 52 – but 5.8% First of all I need to say – I don’t like peanut butter. But that is due more to the yucky sticky consistency, rather than the taste. Anyway, butter and nuts as you might except in the nose – mainly the former. Pours pretty much black with a frothy very transient brown head. In the mouth there is an initial sharpness, giving way to sweet buttery texture, with added chocolate. Sweet finish as well. No as bad as I expected – but I think they’ve overdone it a bit on the sweetness
