Description
During the dawn of micro-brewing in the Bay Area Roger Lind started Lind Brewing Company, which would later become Drake's Brewing. Lind was a brewer at Triple Rock in Berkeley, one of the first brewpubs in America, and set off on his own to brew draft-only English-style ales. In 1998 Roger Lind sold the brewery to a local coffee company, which continued to brew Drake's beer. A new era started in 2008 John Martin and Roy Kirkorian, purchased the brewery. Over the ensuing 10 years, they've expanded brewing capacity, distribution, and started producing West Coast style ales using an abundance of high quality hops and malt. A new 60-barrel brewhouse and fermentation tanks to match, boosted our brewing capacity, ensuring more people could find and enjoy Drake's beer was opened in 2016.

Can drunk in front of the fire next to the window sill i mounted today. Amber light hazy with good head, apricot mandarine nose. Great tropical flavors, mild/super smooth bitterness, nice fresh fruit with background of pine. Really excellent, balanced pale ale.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a large foamy white head. Very tropical aroma of mango and either passionfruit or pineapple. Near med body. Flavor is the aroma, but I think pineapple rather than passionfruit. The malt is a really nice, subdued caramel making me think of an English bitter. Sort of a strawberry/kiwi note in the finish. Like'n it.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear, bright gold with a large foamy white head. Aroma is very tropical with a hint of Yuzu. Med body. Quite dry. More than moderately bitter. Tropical - mostly mixed citrus, but some white berry aspects. Something prickly suggests passionfruit. Very nice.
