Description
Robbert Orano started White Pony. He is a home brewer with Belgian roots. He has a great preference for craft beer and heavier Belgian beers. The White Pony brewery makes beer in an artisanal way, unpasteurized and unfiltered. And bottles the beer with respect for the old tradition. But all this is done with an innovative view of the brewing process.

Small off-white head, irregular, over fully hazy orange-ochre beer. Sharp yeastY/estery nose, citrus, bit nutty smell. Citrus and again a tad nutty; fatty acids, toasted malts. Maybe medium bodied, well-carbonated. Poor....

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 04/2017
Aroma is malty with milk chocolate and some raisins. Flavour has dark fruits, raisins, burned sugar and dark berries. Foamy and rather slimy palate. Alcohol lurks in the background but does not disturb. Sweet and smooth.

Squat little 33cl bottle, courtesy of sebletitje, pours with a dark amber body that supports a fairly tight tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malts, slightly roasted malts and a firm degree of finely chopped nuts. Behind those notes are murmurs of sweet dark fruity esters. The taste however seems to be dominated by smooth sweet dark fruity esters like brown sugar “dusted” cherries, prunes and dates. It then flows smoothly into malty notes and some nuttiness toward midway. In the background is a bit of spicy black strap molasses and hints of chocolate malts. Nice sipper that seems like some age will do it well.

The squat little 33cl bottle, thanks to sebletitje, pours with a dark brown body that supports a short lived brown colored head. The aroma is pretty full and offers up maltiness, a strong hazelnut note, Nutella ™ and almond butter with lighter notes of prunes and dates and booze. Interesting. The taste is similar with a firm degree of nuttiness and toasted dark German bread. It also pulls together notes of prunes and dates and figs to midway just has the heat and booze begin to hit. It stays pretty darn nutty right into the finish. Is this right . . . all this nuttiness, or are my senses off? A few more sips bring another facet where I’m getting sweet nectar like date juice adding to the complexity. Interesting brew and pretty fun too.

33 cl bottle @ PBF VIII
Aroma has pea soup, some bready malt and berries. Flavour has pea soup, some bready malt and hints of caramel. Too much pea soup here – quite close to Laitila products.

Bottled@PBF VIII. Amber colour, small head. Aroma and flavour is dominated sugar, some liquorice and some salted liquorice. Flavour is very much the same. Not that interesting. For a Belgian strong quite nice and spiced.

Bottled at PBF. Cloudy copper colour, small head. Woody nose woith prunes, wood and tobacco. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly with notes of red wine and low bitterness. Full flavoured, but superficial.

330ml bottle @ PBF 2013

Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of sweet syrupy malts, spices, caramel and wood. Taste is sugary sweet, malty, caramely and spicy with hints of wood and vanilla. Finish is sticky sweet, malty and caramely. Not very balanced.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 12/2017, beer appears overly inflated by fake reviews. Light gusher.
