Woop woop! It’s the gusher alarm. Big squirter. Bottle @ home shared by benzai. Hazy amber with a huge off white head. Smells sweet, sour, slightly rotten leafs, slightly dusty, funghus. Tastes sweet, herbs, malts. Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, lightly coffee, decently bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not bad at all, quite decent.

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Smells sweet, roasty, coffee, chocolate, coal, ash. Tastes ash, coal, very roasty, toasty, coffee.. Full body, nice carbo.

Bottle @ benzai. Murky orange with a small white head. Smells Belgian yeast, herbs, malty. Tastes liquorice wood, herbs, malts, quite sweet and Belgian yeast. Thin to medium body, nice carbo.

33cl Bottle: obtained from Rudi at De Bierboom, Brugge: BBD Jul 17. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip on 3 Dec 13. The sediment joined the rest of the beer in my glass, so the orange body was murky, dull and hazy. The head a proud white blanket of uneven foam. The nose was a surprise, this ’traditional Saison’ had a malty aroma with semi-sweet fruit notes. The taste was also leaning towards maltiness and certainly away from farmyards or rural flavours. Nice enough, but not really a Saison as I know them, grainy in nature but this just seemed too smooth and not rough around the edges like typical beers of this style tend to portray.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium to dark amber - brown red colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dusty malt, light roasted, moderate hoppy, dry grass - dusty grass, moderate to light heavy alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dusty, fruity, caramel, sweet fruity malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
