Draught. Ruby/amber colour , not much head. Weak berries and malt in flavour, with also some hints of yeast. Flavour is malty, a bit salty and with crisp hops in finish. Clean one. Not bad at all.

Bottled (vintage 2000, but airleak made it loose all pressure etc). Black opaque colour, not much head. Aroma of licorace, hay, grain and roasted malt. Flavour dry hayish sweet malt with hints of toffee and tar. A bit sweet alcohol too. Too bad it was kind of spoiled, but in my opinion the flavour and aroma gave a big picture of what it could have been. Aroma wasn’t bad at all in my opinion. ’The flavour was clearly ruined a bit though, that’s reason for only 6...

Almost opaque dark brown, small brown head. Sweetish berry and port wine -like nose. Medium-bodied, sweetish in the start, then turns to roasted with hints of licorice. Long roasted-hoppy aftertaste. Flavor is similar to Guinness (European) Export version.
Re-take, no rate, bottled vintage 2000, special bottling of HBF 2000 winning patch (only 5 bottled)
Unfortunately bottle had got some air - not in the good condition, but gave a climpse to potential: very dry, port wineous - no sugar or licorice here.

Murky nut brown, creamy brown head. Sticky sugary, notes of juniper in the flavor. A bit citrusy. Light-bodied, refreshing easy to drink sahti. Hides alcohol very well. One of the best sahtis I have tasted but looks like it does not travel very well.

Tapped. Dark red/black colour with brown foamy head. Strong malty nose with hints of caramel and old coffee. Sweet caramel for about one second, then smoke, and lots of it! Very smoky aftertaste.

Tapped. Black opaque with brown foamish head. Blueberries and malt in aroma. Berries and malt at first in the flavour, but later followed by a huge smokey effect. Smokey aftertaste with weak hints of licorace.

Christmas special from my local brew pub. Slightly hazy dark nut brown color, good creamy off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, slightly spicey and ashy. Medium-bodied. Hoppy, ashy strong flavor of clove and blueberry. Long bitter aftertaste. Interesting, unique season brew.
