getrunken kurz vor Weihnachten 2017
Ich bin eigentlich kein Freund von Bockbieren. Meist sind sie mir geschmacklich zu alkoholisch und/oder süß. Dieser Bock hat auch einen deutlichen süßen Touch und auch den Alkohol merkt man, aber alles ist in angenehm fruchtige Noten eingepackt, was es recht süffig macht. Ein Bier für Freunde, aber auch Skeptiker von Bockbieren.

Tap at the brewpub/restaurant. Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma of hop, light citrus, lemongrass and cream. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light to medium body, slightly texture and average combination.

Tap at the brewpub/restaurant. Pours cloudy dark gold with a lasting white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus and banana. Towards heavy sweetness, moderate bitterness and just a touch of sour. Medium body, oily texture and average combination.

Tap at the brewpub/restaurant. Pours mid brown in colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and light roasting. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Like to meet in body, slightly oily and watery texture, soft combination. This one just edged it as my favourite of the beers on offer.

Auch das Weizen kommt mir ein bisschen zu brav daher. Aber die fehlende Aromabombe wird gut durch gut fruchtige Aromen nach Mango, Maracuja und natürlich Banane abgefedert, sodass man am Ende des Tages ein gutes Weizenbier bekommt.

Neben dem vielen österreichischen Märzen, die eigentlich ein Helles sind, ist dies wirklich ein Märzenbier: dunkelgelb, fast orange und weniger hopfig als malzig. Die Aromenpalette ist ganz gut komponiert, aber irgendwie fehlt der. Wumms dahinter. Hier könnte man ruhig vollmundiger brauen, aber vermutlich will man lieber ein braves Touristenbier.

Orange-amber, very hazy body, with a big, stable, creamy, lacing, slightly yellowish head.
Aroma of banana, lots of cloves and other spices, bread, dried fruits, some vanilla.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes spicy, yeasty, moderate sweet, bready, a bit fruity.
Nice one. Full bodied and aromatic, while the spices are a bit too strong, slightly disturbing the freshness. Really nice fruit notes though. Not otstanding, but well drinkable.
