Das Salm Bräu Böhmisch G´mischt ist wie das Pils seinen Ursprung in unserem Nachbarland Tschechien. Neben dem hopfigen Pils war das Böhmisch Dunkel der Ausgleich mit dominant malzigem Charakter und seiner schwarzen Farbe, beinahe lichtundurchlässig. Das Böhmisch G´mischt ist eine etwas leichtere Variante und wurde früher in alten Gasthöfen tatsächlich aus dem Dunklen und dem Hellen gemischt. Wir brauen diese Bierspezialität bereits so ein, der deutliche Malzgeschmack bleibt erhalten aber das Bier hat einen etwas schlankeren Abgang. Durch das besondere Heizverfahren unserer Brauereianlage wird bei der Maischarbeit der hohe Karamelanteil nicht überhitzt und es gibt daher keine Bittere, wie man dies oft von anderen dunklen Bieren kennt. Vor allem in der kalten Jahreszeit erfreut sich dieses Bier einer besonderen Beliebtheit. Die Stammwürze beträgt 12,5%, der Alkoholgehalt liegt bei 5,0%.

Tap at Salm Bräu, Vienna. May 2025. Pours clear dark brown with tan foam. Aroma: mild roast, grains, cocoa, caramel. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, toasty, minor burnt malts, clean. Light to medium body with soft carbonation.

500 ml draft at Salm Bräu in Vienna, Austria. The pour is a clear brown with a light khaki head that leaves behind nice coating foam. The aroma is a nice roast with cereal grain, kind of dusty. The taste is clean roast, toast malt with soft mineral earth. Clean and tasty, though perhaps a bit subdued. The palate is light to medium bodied with natural carbonation and the toast roast mineral finish.

0.5l tap. Murky chestnut brown with a creamy head. Toffee, caramel, citrus, roasted maroon, candy sugar. Dry zesty bitterness, malty toffee sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry caramel bittersweet finish. Nice Vienna Lager, nice to have this style in the city of its origin.
