Draft at Fabrika. Orange with a long lasting frothy white head. Aroma of orange peel and Belgian yeasts with a hint of spice. Taste is bittersweet, full of caramel, honey and tea. A touch more bitter at the end. Overall pretty good.

Sampler at Fabrika. Yellowish with a frothy, white crown. Unusual aroma for a weizen—hints of banana but also grainy, rubbery. Taste is mildly bitter with grainy notes. Can’t believe this is a Weizen.

On tap at the brewpub Pours hazy gold with white head. Taste offers good balance of bitterness and malts closer to bitter end. Good.

6 August 2018. At Fabrika, Bratislava. Cheers to Anke!
First Polotmavý. Pours clear amber with a lasting, big, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of caramel, plum, peach, 'sandwich' (or brioche), cookie dough, pancake batter, maple syrup, green tea with sugar, speculoos. Medium to heavy malty sweet onset, not yet cloying despite hints of caramel & dough, balanced by a light herbal bitterness, tea-like; more syrup & bread. Dryish, not too long, herbal hoppy finish, lingering dough & caramel. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Tasty stuff!

Pours hazy dark brown to black with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head; little lacing. Aroma of fondant, burnt caramel, coffee roast, nutmeg, cinnamon, cookie dough, raisin, faint licorice. Medium malty sweet onset with lots of caramel, chocolate & licorice, turning light roasted bitter, hints of coffee & toast; touch of sour blackcurrant. Dry, toasty finish, a bit herbal & peppery hoppy, lingering coffee & dark malt. Medium body, slick/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Well-made Dunkel, quite interesting even.
