Found in an Ed store in Paris as a "Biere Brune", sure looks like the same stuff according to descriptions. Pours dark amber with okay head. Aroma is barley and wet malt, some caramel, all very weak. Taste is a mix of chocolate and boot leather, a foul mix - kind of like eating a steak covered in chocolate and nitrate preservatives. Just foul.

clear brown, smooth offwhite head. faint caramelly aroma, some flowers. flavor is sweet, caramelly, flowery. okay but would get cloying in the end.

25 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt and caramelish. Sweet and caramelish malt. Roasted and slight breadish. Lingering roasted malt finish.

Bottle 25 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup - the wine specialist... Pours a very clear orangey brown with a beige head. Roasted sweet malt in the nose - some phenols. Medium body, very, very sweet caramel and cardboard. No hops. 090710

Bottled. A deep red with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of fruit, malt, caramel, bread, leading to a dry finish.

50cl can in France. golden color, not much to say here, just average malt, light touch of sweet caramel with the usual lasting bitter hop addition leaving this linerging metallic/can mouthfeel. Meh!

Top shelf at a Paris supermarché this time, maybe it was misplaced... usually you find this one in giant boxes of bottles for about five Euros. Pours with decent head, light yellow colour. Aroma is rotting cardboard and alcohol. Taste is bitter syrup with a dry finish, a lot like sucking on a plank of wood (not that I’ve tried that, mind you). Really hard to drink, just too syrupy and bitter.

Can. A light golden beer with a thin whte head. The aroma has notes of grain and unfermented malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of unfermented grain, cardboard, and a bit of hops, leading to a metallic finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Clear golden with a medium off white head. Grainy aroma with with metallic and hoppy notes. Flavour had grain, metal and hoppy notes. Finished dry adn bitter.
