Pizza Port California Honey Blonde Ale 4.8% Straw honey gold color with a centimeter of foam and a honey with fruit blossoms aroma. Grainy honeyed soda bread flavor with a dry finish featuring herbal spicy mildly bitter hops. Much closer to a typical golden ale, this style really benefits from the smoothness of a cask ale.

Can. Counts as a different brewery it seems. Moderately cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of oranges and light biscuit with some floral and tropical hints. Tastes that way at first until there's grapefruit and a bit of piney grunt towards a solid bitter and fairly dry finish. Good - rolls with the times but only a little bit.

On tap at Pizza Port San Clemente, pours a red-tinged dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly mild, with earthy, piney hops and moderate roast on the backside. Flavour is powerful yet balanced, with a great balance of earthy, piney hops and roasted malt to back. Fairly dry, with a more laid back flavour profile than some of the more forceful black IPAs out there. Excellent.

Can. Amber beer with a cream head. grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with light summer fruit.

Clear dark golden color with a medium ivory white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of resiny hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter piney hop character and flavors of grapefruit and biscuit malt. The finish is citrus and piney hops. Pretty good all around.
