Definitely a difference after 2 J-IPAs. Before 9 was closed so decided to end here on my way home. Chica-less.

Can from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours translucent gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of mixed fruits, arguably pale stone and tropical with a touch of something green (not melon). Med body. Rather juicy. There's a dankish thing going on in a moderate way; bitter; maybe there's some South African hop in it. A bit spicy along the tongue. Dang, but there's a lot here.

Alright. Lemon, citrus, but uninspiring if I’m being honest but nice enough.

16oz Can, drank in California on 22nd Dec 2019. Mini-haze to the golden body, decent white head of foam. Hoppy nose and taste, tropical fruit esters and flavours to the fore, semi-bitter throughout. Grapefruit comes to mind as you search for which fruit dominates overall.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 29, 2019. Aroma is a balanced blend of hops and light cracker malt notes. Hop notes of grapefruit, pine, resin, pineapple and hints of tropical fruit. Faint alcohol notes. Pours a slightly hazy, palish gold color with a large, thick, fluffy, white head that slowly receded to a small film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Fairly strong bitterness with a light alcohol note in the finish. Moderate grapefruit, pine and resin hop notes with lighter hints of tangerine, pineapple and tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a perfectly acceptable IPA at a great price point. Could be hoppier, but then it would likely cost more. Easy drinker.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 02, 2019. Can states it is an IPA and 7.2% abv. Aroma is hop forward with grapefruit, orange and tangerine notes. Lighter pine, resin and floral notes with faint tropical fruit notes. Medium light cracker malt notes and a hint of alcohol notes. Pours a fairly clear, gold color with a medium large, thick, creamy, white head that recedes slowly but steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderate grain notes of cracker malt and biscuit. Moderately strong bitterness with a bit of alcohol notes. Quite a bit of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine with lighter pine and resin notes. A touch floral with some tropical fruit notes as well. Overall, a decent IPA especially at its price point. Not super fruity and a bit bitter, but its fine.
