Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark amber color with an off-white head. Sweet malty hoppy aroma with some hints of vanilla. Sweet malty hoppy flavor with some hints of vanilla. A bit thin. Sweet malty finish with a hoppy and slightly bitter aftertaste.

Muddy amber color; creamy head; beautiful lace. Soft, sweet aroma; caramel; dirty water. Soft texture, some sweetness, malt and caramel, dusty. Strange, not very well done.

Dark color. Roasted malt aroma, very yeasty. Caramel, roasted malt and candy liquorice flavor, still a lot of yeast. Not very good.

(On tap) Black and opaque with a handsome, dense, beige head leaving laces. Aroma of roasted malt with a vaguely burned touch. Medium body, sweet notes of roasted malt, lightly burned and pehaps a whiff of smoke. Not much bitterness really. A mild and very alluring Porter. 140407

(On tap) Very unclear, nutty brown with a small, off-white head - this is what I usually refers to as the chinese river water look. Aroma of coffee and nuts. Medium body with a distinct sweetness from roasted malt and brown sugar. No bitterness. 140407

(On tap) Clear, warm, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Aroma of nuts and some vanilla. Medium body, roasted malt accents with a sweetish touch of vanilla sugar - actually the vanilla is quite prominent. The finish is dry. I really dig vanilla when connected with bourbon barreling, but vanilla beers as such never succeeds in impressing me. 140407

Draft. Brewed as a summer version of the Porter, the hops is Willamette instead of East Kent Goldings and the yeast is a Chico instead of a Scottish ale yeast.
A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of dusty hops, chocolate, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of wood, citrus, and roasted malt, leading to a dry woody and bitter end. Good - but personally I like the standard version better, but I’m a sucker for the more powerful beers, and this version is intended to be lighter.

Cask. A muddy brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very sweet malty with notes of brown sugar and licorice. The flavor is sweet with notes of brown sugar, spices - especially cloves, licorice, as well as a light alcohol burn towards the end, which is dry and spicy. Very interesting - I would really like to know how this ages with the high sweetness and complexity I think it will age well.

Hazy orange amber with a white head. malty fruity slight hoppy aroma which has something that I dislike. Perhaps some sour hop notes - which I normally like - but I dont know!?!?. Slight metallic notes and a quite moderate fruity hop and malty taste. Overall OK IPA!
