100ml draught at the brewpub. Clear dark brown colour. Missing head. Malty aroma. Fresh, rounded flavour of apples and oranges. Dry ending with light bitterness. Perhaps some smoked aroma, but otherwise hard to detect any smoky profile (12.01.2007).

During a happy stay at the brilliant BrewPub in Copenhagen, I started with the five chosen ones. First came 100ml of this Hefeweizen that got a hazy orange coloured body with thin filmy layer. Wheaty aroma. Vagues hints of cloves and coriander in a moderate sweet flavour. Very dry ending (12.01.2006).

Draft. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with lovely fresh hoppy notes of both flowers and citrus. The flavor is quite sweet, but not too much with strong notes of floral hops mixing with notes of fruit and caramel. The hoppy notes turn from floral to bitter towards the end, though the bitterness never becomes extreme. In the very end, the alcohol is felt lightly. In the aftertaste the fruit and caramel notes lingers for a long time. This has high drinkability, but personally I’d have liked it more bitter.

I also had it cask conditioned, which had next to no aroma, and the body was sticky due to lack of carbonation. But it seemed more bitter than the draft version. I prefer draft.

Tap @ Horsens Beerfestival. Golden red body with a thick white head. Lovely citrus, grass aroma (cascade?). A refreshing tasting IPA with a more moderate use of hops, still an American style IPA. Flavor has malt, caramel and a fresh crisp discreet bitter finish. A nice variation in-between all the hop-devils at Horsens. Still I prefer a bit more sting to my festival beers. Probably better together with food, but where was all the food we were promised at this festival?

Cloudy golden color with orange hue. Aroma of paper, light honey, artificial lemon zest. Soft mouthfeel, some malt, residual sweetness, reasonable bitterness level, but not special; also with a light orange fruitness. The final is quite round and malty.

(On tap) Hazy, amber golden with a handsome, dense, white head leaving pretty laces. Some discreet hoppiness in the aroma. Medium body, a bit low in carbonation and should’ve been served a bit colder. Comes with a decent malt base with a lightly flowery touch from the Liberty hops. Dry and lightly hoppy finish. An easy drink but not exactly exciting. 111206

An unclear dark golden-orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet acidic with notes of citrus and hints of dust and milk. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and loads of acidic fruit notes, leading to a dry bitter end. I don’t like the acidic fruit notes.

Cloudy dark amber color with red shades. Very strange aroma, hospital antiseptic and light raspberries. Medium body, with some sugars, the fruits and again this unbelievable chemical flavor. Completely dumb fermentation/yeast, a flop! Disgusting.

Cloudy dark amber color. Aroma of fruits, light, ripe apples and banana. Ordinary taste, Dunkel Weizen with some wheat, spices and banana taste. Unemotional, but not bad.

Brown color with red shades. Light aroma, some caramel. Some malt taste, some sweetness, caramel and candi sugar. Very light roasted malt, not very good yeast used. Too simple.
