I had heard good things about this brew, but was disapointed with the results. Pretty bland flavor was gone before I knew it. Just like most pale lagers this one is not something to seek out.

Pale gold with a medium white head. Yeasty aroma with a mild malt taste. Actuaaly better than the other Mexican and American Plae lagers i’ve tried.

Bottle. Pale golden colour with a small white head. Fruity citrus aroma. Sweet malty flavor, smooth. Malty finsih with some hints of citrus, no bitterness.

Bottled. Sparkling, pale golden with a next-to-none white head. Malty, hayish aroma and flavor. Thin, lightly fizzy body and a artificial-like bitterness at the end. (060408)

Bottle. Served with a lime wedge in the neck. Had to ask for a glass. Well, this is a nice dark color, poured under a fizzy head. Lightly roasty smell. Taste is not bad, to my mind. Maybe more color than actual flavor, but somewhere in there I can pick up some vienna malts, with even a bit of chocolate roast and molasses. Light hops made it a good malty companion to spicy food.

I tried this beer in Monterrey, Mexico, under the name "Corona Genuine Cerveza de Barril" and I am 100% certain that it is NOT the same beer as Corona Extra as stated on ratebeer, but in any case here goes.The beer I tried was golden in color (not light yellow as C.E.) and had a very hoppy scent and taste (not pure malt and corn as C.E.). It was very refreshing and deserves to be tested when found.

bottle - Corn! Oh what a surprise, it’s a fizzy, yellow, watery pale lager. How original. Granted I have definitely had worse. If you’ve had most of the bestselling beers in America, you already know what it tastes like anyway. I’m really just whoring for a rating. Sadly I actually drank one tonight though.

Bottle labelled Corona Familiar on 07/25/2008. Clear pale golden body with a small white head. Light skunk and dry grain aroma. Dry grain, faint honey flavor. Light body with moderately high carbonation. 2/1/4/3/8 - 1.8 03/14/2006: Very pale clear yellow color with a thin fully diminishing white head. Slight sweet malt aroma with hints of corn. Flavor is sweet with some citrus hops, and a slight corn aftertaste. 3/1/3/2/6 - 1.5
