Pours hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of mango and citrus, simcoe hops. Taste has woody hop notes, light hints of citrus. Palate is western in style but light on resin, extent on the woody notes but with a slight citric bite. Slightly watery but not bad for a light beer.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle. Soapy lemon aroma. Watery bitter and thin in the mouth without a hint of real flavor. Meh.

Pours an intensely hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of light citrus, melon. Taste has citrusy hops, light smattering of pine and tropical w/ peach notes. Palate has characteristic Long Trail-esque light pine resin on the tongue and nose. Really good.

19.2 oz can from Harvest Market, Pours a hazy lemony yellow with a frothy bone white head that slowly recedes. Citrus bread and earth on the nose. Flavor follows the aroma quite well. Light ashy mouthfeel. Decent easy to drink ipa.

Can from the local Market Basket. Aroma is pretty good; melon pulp, light citrus. Flavor was better then I was guessing. Melon, grassy, citrus with a very mild pine. Slight juice in the texture. Been awhile since I rated a Long Trail brew. Nice surprise.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy yellow gold color. Small frothy beige head. Light citrus hop aroma hints at lemon. Tangy sweet malt flavor. Fresh citrus hops in middle bring notes of orange, lemon and stone fruits. Finish is bittersweet with peppery notes.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall light brown head that stays afloat barely quite nicely. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, molasses, grapes, soy sauce, beef jerkey and a dose of heavier alcohol and astringent grain flavours, but the take-away is a deep robust pungent roasted malt note throughout. Medium-bodied; Super strong roasted malt flavour dominates with a raisin and prune sweetness right behind, a light hint of peated malt and bitterness from coffee show through with a good complexity of malts and alcohol for the duration. Aftertaste shows the light sweetnss from the caramelised sugars and molasses notes, but more of the graham cracker and toasted peat flavours of malt than anything else, but the soy sauce, raisin and fig flavours won't go anywhere either. Overall, a bit too thin and underwhelming in the malt department for this to be 'imperial', but perhaps too robust and deep/bittering to be a traditional stout. Nice to sample and slightly in-between styles here, but a good beer that feels more like a porter or a plain stout (mouthfeel) but by flavours, definitely shows more of an Imperial Stout, even at less than 8% abv. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-July-2016 for US$1,89 sampled at home in Washington a bit more than three years later on 20-September-2019.
