DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

Pour is more of a deep dark red with a large tan head. Aroma is all peanuts. Flavor is again all peanuts. Not much of the porter came out as this was pretty thin but this is all about the peanuts.

My local beer shop seems to get a lot of Destihl beers. This one is a NE style, I will persevere. 12 oz can, opened and tilted into a globe glass, I determine a lemonade-appearing liquid with a strong top of wholly white foam. A nice scent with tropical fruit and an appreciated amount of hops. The taste is all right, actually maybe better than that. I get something of a blend between WC and NE and the result is good. Pineapple, pine, honeydew, grain, juice and grass. A significant sweetness and a comparatively reduced amount of bitterness. But, still, a nice beer.

Can at home from Spar 25/02/2024 Fruity notes of red grapefruit and pineapple, mango and a splash of lemon, nice juiciness, some flinty minerals, sweetish malty backing with a medium body, bitter hoppy finish. Really good for a supermarket beer.

Hazy yellow from a cheap can at total wine. Smells a little like lemon pledge lemonade. From the nose, was expecting something sweet; this is not, its got a pretty good tart wild flavor and its lacking any sweet unfermented sugars. Yes, quite pleasant, I like tart wild brews and this fills the spot. Good level of co2 as well. Refreshing & easy. Not over down in the sour mode but just enough to cause a little pucker. When I was a newbee, I always thought this is what a shandy should taste like, but I was wrong. It takes a well made tart lemon brew to have this character. Good job desty.

Cheap can from total wine. Poured like a light cherry colored pop soda, with a slight light brown tint. Nose is your typical tart wild beer aroma with maybe, just maybe, a slight hint of fruit. First taste is tart cherry all the way, even has some character of a tart cherry pie, no lie. Unlike their apple pie, this does seem to carry the pie thang with it. Goes down real easy, quite enjoyable. However, in the middle it starts to get a little bit of that processed beer attitude in it. In the end, its overall a pretty good tart beer and I enjoyed it, not the best in the world but a pretty good tart cherry beer overall that's worth a try.
