Description
Une Anneé, an Independent Craft Brewery, was born, in 2013, on the near west side of Chicago, with the quest of making fine Belgian inspired ales for all beer lovers. Founded by architect and Chicago native, Jerry Nelson, Une Anneé, has expanded it’s offerings over the years with an emphasis on fruited and unfruited American Wile Ales and Barrel Aged Stouts. In 2017, the brewery moved to neighboring Chicago suburb, Niles, IL and expanded to include a taproom. The working brewery in the background lends a hand to creating a laid back atmosphere where you can sit back and enjoy some of your favorite craft beers on tap.

$3.80 pint can, WW. As much as I complain about prices these days, this appears, at least before sampling, to be quite a bargain. And a Festivus reference to boot! Pours dark brown, not quite black. Appears to have some haze as I pout. Beige head. Nose is plum, coffee, hint of cocoa. Flavor is plum, chocolate fudge, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, caramel. A bit on the sweet side, but not cloying.

Sampled from the tap at Navigator Taproom. Pours a slightly hazy peachy pink with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has sour cherry and earthy oak with a bit of bread underlying. Flavor has sour cherry throughout with a hint of oak and a bit of earhty grain underlying.
