Draft at the Nickel City Con. Hazy golden, small creamy head. Aroma leans on the grains, while taste is more squarely in the hop territory. Pretty well balanced.

The appearance was a dark brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of foamy eggshell white head. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasted malts, coffee beans and grounds, some molasses/somewhat like maple syrup (slightly), some milk chocolate, light amount of dark chocolate, and some leather.
The flavor moderated between the roast and the sweet, bringing in a little bit of bitter and striding nicely together on into the aftertaste guiding into the finish.
The palate was medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good, seemed as projected but also seemed a bit hidden.
Overall, really nice imperial stout, I’d have again if I could get it.

Growler share with Henry.
Both portions were poured into snifters, the appearance was a dark amber color with an ample amount of foamy white head, softly glistened and fell at a good pace. Concave lace.
The aroma had some tobacco, vanilla, toast, caramel/toffee malts, earthy hop bitterness, long sweet citrus extract, butterscotch, bubblegum (yes, weird, but okay, I don’t know, don’t ask, that’s what I got), just a bit of smoke and ended with a little bit of grassy hops.
The flavor had a long sweet malty stretch of the earthiness biting down on the citrus and tobacco dryness. Aftertaste was malty with the tobacco. Finish was lenient with a lot of the flavors as it seemed more just the tobacco and caramel.
The palate was about medium bodied with a sturdy sipping quality about it. Carbonation was there, but somewhat low. ABV felt fine as projected.
Overall, I say pretty damn good English styled barleywine. I’d do this bad boy again.

The appearance was a deep brown color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head. Slight stringy lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of roasty coffee beans to cocoa powder, some sharp citrusy hops and some dark chocolate.
The flavor reminded me of a black IPA as the bitterness seemed to invade a little bit more than expected for a porter. I didn’t mind, though. Aftertaste was a blend of the roast, dark chocolate and citrusy bitter hops. Finish leaned more towards the roast and hops.
The palate was about medium bodied with a good sipping sort of quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt fine. Not as smooth as other porters, I’ve had.
Overall, I’m assuming that’s what Community Beer Works wanted to do - despite being hoppier than expected, I’d still have this again.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a hazy burnt gold color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding lace.
The aroma had some sweet citrus and melon, somewhat like honeydew with a little bit of strawberry? Yes, I question it, but wasn’t too sure but probably more berry if anything.
The flavor had a soft sweet juicy citrus/melon flow over the berry qualities. Nice gentle aftertaste of the melon, citrus and berries. Fairly smooth finish - juicy, sweet with a touch of bitter.
The feel was roughly medium bodied, perhaps a tad under with a sturdy sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt right.
Overall, nicely done AIPA that I could have again.

Bottle shared in Buffalo. Thanks to the groom! Pours clear red-gold with a creamy, off-white head. The nose has some acetic berries, same closers, paint stripper, some lightly towed wood, leather. Light-medium sweet flavour with strong acidity, sharp acetic bite. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more sharp acetic bite, tart berries, fruity tangibility. Good stuff is here.

Growler from Frank.
My portion was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a level foamy white head. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasty malts, good dose of nuts, some caramel/toffee maltiness, light coffee, and a little bit of dark chocolate. Some leafy hops at the very end - some light bitterness.
The flavor leaned into the roast initially and then created a nice delicate sweet to roasty aftertaste. Smooth sweet and roasty finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, damn good brown ale that I would love to have again.

Growler share with Doug and Henry. Thanks Frank.
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark amber almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some toast, milk chocolate, woody/earthy hops and some light espresso sweet to bitter nibs at the end.
The flavor took all of the previously mentioned aromas and added in a touch of vanilla. Nice gentle aftertaste of the espresso; same in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Somewhat creamy along my tongue. Roastiness doesn’t grip as much. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt good.
Overall, really nice coffee brown ale that brought the goods!

From tap. Pours deep brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and sight caramelish. Toasted malty, slight herbal hoppy and toasted malty. Bitter, dry and slight herbal far finish.
