Re-rating from cask @ Stockbridge Tap. Much better on cask, great aroma and taste, very fresh citrus, looks good and tastes great with a very balanced palate. Previous rating on 15/10/12 = 6+4+6+3+12=3.1 50cl bottle thanks to BeerCast_Rich. Pours golden and clear with a nice frothy head. The nose has honey and hay. The taste has grapefruit, hay and pale malt. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a nice clean finish. Overall, solid but not memorable.

Cask @ The Abbotsford, Edinburgh 250912
Golden amber, light haze, dense white pillowy head, good lacing
Aroma - citrus resinous hops, soft grassy hops, caramel malts, grapefruit, soft tropical fruits
Taste - citrus fruity hops, very hoppy, tinned grapefruit, bitter grassy hops, sweet caramel malts, quite complex, lot of flavour here
Palate - soft carb, medium body. mainly bitter hops. Finish a bit dry, fruity grassy quite fiery bitter hoppy linger...oh I’m getting that tinned grapefruit again (!)
Overall - Very hoppy beer, lots of flavour, perhaps if the hops are toned down just ever so slightly it’ll be excellent

Cask @ Red Squirrel 280712 (Galaxy version)
Amber, slight haze, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - light sweet fruity malts, some old pale fruits, slight grape, apricot, some musty hops
Taste - Sweet pale malts, some citrus hops, apricot, bit of zest, odd plastic note - it isn’t right
Palate - Finish - this is odd - a sort of vanilla custard powder / cakemix comes through in the finish with soft bitter background and hint of peppery hop. Has a good interesting finish
Overall - Could be really good - it needs tweaking or perhaps the Galaxy doesn’t work here.

Cask @ Dagda Bar, Edinburgh 270712
Dark golden brown, rich white head
Aroma - caramel malts, roast malts, some herbal spicy hops
Taste - caramel malts, some roasted malts, nutty malts, bitter grassy hops, bit of chocolate, hint of citrus in the background, hint of coffee in there, touch of spicy hop....this is quite a complex tasting bitter
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish a bit dry, as main flavour, pleasant linger of grassy bitter hop, caramel and light roast
Overall - Well this redefines ’boring’ bitter - it’s surprising complex. Excellent work from Alechemy.
