A great aroma of chocolate, sweet fruit, coffee, and red wine. How about a whiff of recently sharpened pencil?? More of the same in a big, rich taste profile. Dark chocolate, ripe field berries, a slight red wine venousness, molasses and a hint of wood. A touch of acidity keeps it clean. Solid citrus hops in the background. Really tasty

A pillowy tan head, well laced, over a near black body. Slightly more translucent than some other monster ISs. On popping the cap, damp hardwood and dark berries are the first aroma elements. Molasses, malt and dark chocolate round out the primary nose elements. Lots going on in the taste profile. Molasses, dark chocolate, slightly singed butter, a growing citrus hop sub-profile, a hint of scotch whiskey, oatmeal and chocolate fudge in the finish. Sustains well. A great IS that sustains well. A little more density and grip to the taste elements and it would be one of the few.

Bottle from the LCBO. Black pour, with a small light brown head. Aroma is semi sweet, cocoa, and soy, with some sweet fruit, dark roast coffee, light berries, light red wine. Mouthfeel is soft, and slightly oily, and a soft carb. Medium bitterness, sweet red wine notes, earthy, slightly woody finish. More coffee, and soy with a semi sweet maltiness.

cask days 2013.
Good drinkability, nice citrus nose, some light pine. Nowhere near what i was expecting like most american citra ales. only tinges of what i was expecting from the citra hop. Its not bad, but a bit disapointing.

Bortimot svart med masse brunt skum som varer. Lukter mye av kakao, sjokolade og kaffe. Smaker sjokolade, pulverkaffe og noe vanilje. Ganske så myk I munnfølelse.
