Bottle @ Koningsdag 2018 tasting. Black with a small beige head. Smells sweet, liquorice, earthy, roasty. Tastes roasty, very sweet, liquorice. A bit unbalanced. Full body, soft carbo.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 08 22. Dark color, medium frothy head. Aroma of lots of roast and dark bread, some coffee and a bit of a metallic hint. Roasty bitterness in taste, dark bread again. And when I say dark bread, I mean the darkest of the darkest. Darth Vader would say, wow that is some dark shit, eeh sith, whatever. Allison it is called at the local shop. The kind of bread that is always left at the end of the day at the bakery/supermarket. You would think they would make more volkoren/bruin bread, as that is what most people want. But no, all that is left, is the kind of bread nobody wants. Or think about a regular bittergarnituur: we all want frikadellen, mexicanos or bitterballen. And every single time we are stuck with horrible bamihappen and nasisnacks. Who eats this kind of crazy fusion kitchen catastrophes? Oh btw, the beer is quite good actually, just a bit too much liquid allison bread.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie1986, het is een donker bruin bier met een dunne bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een koffie achtige geur. De smaak is gebrand, koffie en een beetje peper achtig.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown color with a slight dark red glare coming through when held into the light, average sized beige to light brown colored head that lasts for a short while. Aroma and flavor are malts, slightly a hint of peat, lightly liquorice, dark malts, lightly ash, lightly smoked malts, a slight sweet hint also. Medium body, smooth texture, suitable soft to average carbonation. Quite pleasant.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Lightly hazy yellow orange color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, hops, bitter. Not too special, mainly bitter hops. Decent body and carbonation. Mwah, ok beer.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy yellow to orange colour with a large white head. Smells hops, zesty, sharp, fruity. Tastes hoppy, fruity, fresh, apricot. Medium body, soft carbo.

33 cl bottle from Bierwinkel Alkmaar @ home. Pitch black color. Short beige head. Aroma’s: alcoholic, dark roast, wood/tannines. Retronasal it’s sweetish, a bit chocolatey, woody, alcohol. Flavor is light sweet, roasted, a bit fruity and chocolatey. Medium bodied. Warming alcohol feel, rather low carbonation. Finishes light roasty, woody, chocolatey. OK, but not nearly as good as their offspring’s beers.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus at his place. Hazy orange color, huge white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, bitter malts, bitter hops. The high carbonation gets in the way of the flavor. Decent body, too much carbonation. Drinkable as a beer but not good as an IIPA.

Sampled @ Noord-Hollands Bierfestival, Alkmaar. [Note: I had the coffee infused version] Opaque black color, average sized brown head. Smell and taste malts, brown malts, coffee, heavy coffee, coffee dark malt bitter. Dry finish and a bit earthy. Medium body, decent carbonation.
