A lightly hazed amber alt with a thin off white head. In aroma, loads of grassy malt with toasted character, smooth, ginger notes. In mouth, smooth nutty malt with a strange soapy character, nice and balanced. On tap at A Night with Amsterdam and Friends, Feb 2 2013.

Smells like burnt caramel - overpowering. Aroma has lots of booze and candy. Colour is cloudy red. Pretty low carbonation. No head or lacing. Taste is just sweet, thick consistency. Not a huge fan of this - too sticky sweet for me. Tap at volos.

This beer has originality. Smells like wine barrels and floral hops. Tastes even like wine barrels. Pours cloudy blond with some lasting head and not much lacing. Aroma has a little booze as well. Finishes with booze and wine-fruity sweetness. Great. Tap at volos.

Very well done. Nothing in the wrong direction. Aroma of brett, floral hops and some malt. Pours golden with head, some lacing. Lots of aroma here. Tasye has some medium sourness but not too heavy. Awesome drinakability. Bottle this beer please. Tap at volos.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a rather large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt with some black chocolate and roasted coffee notes. Taste is mix between some roasted coffee notes with light bitter notes of black chocolate with some subtle notes of liquorice and light lactose finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very drinkable and well balanced though doesn’t necessarily stand out from the pack with limited complexity.

473 ml can. Pours a clear dark orange hue with a small white head. A sweet nose of sugary raspberry. A fairly clean sweet berry flavor, sugary, some lemon perhaps. OK. Nothing terrible, a bit thin.

Pretty dam well done for style, and Im not usually partial to style. Smells nice and malty. Colour brown, red in light. Some definite whisky and oak in aroma. Taste is malty bitter. Medium carbonation. Tap at The Rhino.

Comes in a 6-pack at the LCBO. An unfiltered IPA... nice ! Now rated at 7.1% ABV. Pours a dark amber colour with an off-white average head and long retention that gives out good dirty lacing. You can also see the tiny particles floating all-around. Piney aromas well-balanced by the fruitiness of the 7 different malts. Very nice drinkability with a not-too thick mouthfeel, and no burning at all. Again, a nice balance between the bitter hops (grapefruit rind) and the malts (caramel, citrus fruits). The mild dryness and strong bitterness from the hop really lingers for a while. Quite a nice offering from Amsterdam and for those who enjoy the hop, but well-blended.
