Bottle. It’s a very dark brown beer, topped by a small, dark beige head. The aroma has loads of coffee, as well as a vegetal, green pepper touch. Some chocolate and roasted malts. Mostly coffee in the flavor too, with a touch of green peppers. Coffee, chocolate and a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Full body with a pleasant carbonation. Semi-dry on the palate. Lasting coffee finish. A smooth one, but very one dimensional. 141025

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear very dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, heavy coffee and lots of vegetables. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 251014

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long coffee, chocolate and caramel. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at home, 25th October 14. Soft hops in the aroma, taste is smooth, but slightly muted. A little creamy, could be sharper. Annoying large head on the beast, which annoys me. Still liked it, OK

Tap at Kaapse Brouwers. Reddish brown with medium sized cream colored head. Yeasty and spicy, with Apple, berries, vegetal bitter finish. Light sweet but nothing too much. Medium bodied. Nice.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown head that diminishes quite quickly but leaves fair to good lacing. Don’t get a lot of aroma, but that might be due to a cold. Taste malts, lightly liquorice, a hint of sweet and lightly bitter, a hint of wood. Something in there I can’t describe. Oily texture, decent body, decent carbonation. Don’t get the coffee, unless Brazilian coffee is sweetish. Anyway, I think it’s definitely worth a try.

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Smells malts, hay, barnyard, dried corn, cattlefeed. Tastes malty, rinse appelstroop, molasses, sweet, some coffee, roasty, some vanilla. Medium to full body, soft carbo.

Bottle. Golden color, big white head. Aroma of grainy malt. Taste of yeast, lots of it, bit dry, but not as dry as a real saison. Malty and fruity. Lots of carbo. More a yeasty belgian blonde instead of a saison.
