Pale, and with some haze. The aroma has some citrusy fruitiness on the nose, promising. On the palate, there's still a bit of berry, light body, a bit wheaty, and there's a sort of an off-note in there as well.

Poured from 473mL can. Hazed blonde with small white head. Salty, tart, light lemon, feint coriander, balances okay.

Reddish-brown colour, bright, with a thin head. The aroma is a bit bready. On the palate, toffee up front, some nice dark sugars, and then a little bit of toastiness late. Good body, mostly sweet through the finish but with a little appetizing hint of dryness. I knew Smithers could brew, but I didn't know they could brew lager.

Poured from 473mL can in a PG motel. Very hazy yellow with white head. Citrus hops that's just a touch dialed back from a mild yeasty base. Okay.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Nose still has lots of lacto, acetonic notes, maybe a hint of brett. Flavour is rather harsh, with light lacto, acetone, and some tart citric acid. Rather rough after these years—just too much acetone. It’s alright.

[2021 Vintage] 500mL bottle. Pours murky gold with a white head. White wine, acetone, pineapple on the nose. Flavour has pineapple, peach, moderate acidity, wild yeast; some acetone, though less prominent than the nose. Pretty good, but not great.

Poured from 473mL can. Clear blonde gold with no head. Some mild berry notes, none of the citrusy pine notes I would expect from the spruce, mostly just an average kettle sour.

Dark brown. Just a thin head. Aroma is of things that aren't going well together - a strong butter rum note, and a sweet candy chocolate thing. That's a lot more sugar...there could be balance here but on the nose, no there is not. Medium body, and right off the bat I get a big hit of molasses that speaks to quality in the underlying base Baltic. Light bitterness. The treatment here comes across as over the top on that butter rum thing. Give this base some time in amburana that held anejo cachaca, now that would be the shit.

I don’t know what a jostaberry even is! The beer is purple, could be the berry or the malbec barrel. Not much head. Toasty, a bit slick, light berry…nothing so bad on the nose but not my optimal combination of aromas. Sharply acidic, with some toasty barrel notes taking the lead. The vinous accents come with a berry taste, I assume this jostaberry stuff. They’ve probably coaxed the best out of this batch, but I’m wishing a bit of sweeter golden ale was blended in for balance.

Pours with a good white pillow of foam and semi-hazy mango body. Good papaya and mango on the nose. Taste is soft grain, vague mango and lingering pine. Full, modest carbonation, a little wet, but otherwise a very tasty sessionable IPA.
